The Hairy Woodpecker is far less common at my feeders, but is not rare in Central Ohio. It's very similar (but much smaller) Downy Woodpecker, which is one of my most common guests at the peanut feeder. The Hairy Woodpecker is about 3-inches larger than the Downy, and has a much longer beak (proportional to it's head size). Otherwise, the Downy and Hairy are very much identical.

See also the photos with the similar Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers together on the peanut feeder here.
